Okay, we always like to hammer home the point that AIRSOFT SHOULD BE FUN, and sometimes we get something on the range for testing that reminds even us that this is true, and this morning we’ve been cranking the little M4 45 PISTOL X-CLASS from Ares Airsoft through its paces!

We loved what Ares have done with their modular MUTANT and this short “pistol” model shares both the Electronic Firing Control System (EFCS) and a degree of modularity too! The X45 comes with two magazines in different lengths and capacities, but with a metal Upper and Lower Receiver, as well as the re-engineered Gearbox. The shoulder stock is not only adjustable in length, but can also be folded sideways, and there’s some clever techo-whizzery in place here too; a clever wireless battery connection is used to avoid cable damage!

The X45 also gets clever as the rail system and barrel assembly, either traditional or M-LOK, can be swapped out easily and swiftly to change it from a super-short room-clearer to a more regular length carbine for general skirmiShing, giving you the choice to change out your setup to suit you needs!

Features Include:

EFCS-System
Incl. 150 and 300 round magazine
Metal Upper & Lower Receiver
Re-engineered Metal-Gearbox
Adjustable shoulder stock with battery compartment
Flip-Up sight
Ambidextrous usable safety
Straight trigger blade

We’ve already had a whole heap of fun with this “PCC”, but you’ll have to wait for the new issue of AA on October 15 to get the lowdown on how it performed; we’d like to say a big thanks though to the guys at iWholesales who kindly loaned us the X45 for review and put a big grin on our faces on a rainy September morning!
