It’s been a bit of a blistering week back at AAHQ as we kick back into gear after our Easter Break and website maintenance with new AEGs and GBBs coming in for review and evaluation, meeting attended, plans made, and the new issue well underway!

And of course the week is far from over as Saturday is the day when we all finally find out the results of the annual POPULAR AIRSOFT 14th PLAYERS CHOICE AWARDS that will stream live on YOUTUBE starting at 11:00 AM BST!

Having been nominated this year (thanks you one and all for voting for us!) we’re hoping for what we Brits call a “result”, but we’re up against some strong competition in both categories so we’d really appreciate your support tomorrow when things go live… come and join the party, it’s sure to be FUN!

But what of the AA LEGION? What are their plans for the coming weekend?

Bill tells us that “I’ll be glued to the awards video on Saturday for sure, but whilst doing so I have some tinkering to do with my GBBRs as it’s most definitely time that they all got some TLC; the winter months are always hard on GBBs as I tend to use gas with a bit more oomph to keep them rolling on colder conditions, and this of course means greater wear and tear on the working parts… time for inspection and maintenance I feel! And of course Sunday I’ll be on the woods range with the APS STRIKER-12 that I collected yesterday to see if it lives up to its promise!”

Stewbacca chipped in to say “I’ve just been out at our Xindian hilltop site today doing a load of #GunScience all day with some good friends, team TaiJi may return there on Sunday as well, if the weather holds, otherwise we may retreat to indoor CQB as an alternative. I got a lot of good groupings at 10 and 20m and was reaching out to 70-80m with the VFC smorgasbord of T91 (pictured this week!), M16A1, FAL and PSG-1 all behaving themselves very well in the increasing heat here.”

Miguel said “The guys and I are planning to have a small game with some new guys in airsoft, and while we are in the field we will also check some of the areas for the missions in our upcoming 16th birthday game.”

Boycie told us that “this weekend will be me competing with RS but airsoft wise I’ll be fitting some parts to a new purchase and taking photos prior to finishing off the copy for a future article.” While Ben said “No real plans atm; I was gutted I couldn’t get out Sunday just gone to play but I shall make up for it with savage play when I’m next out!  I got myself another little go pro camera so can add more angles to my content now… it’s all fun and game this life business…”

Jimmy as always is a busy boy as he told us “Saturday I will be mostly in the workshop toiling away. I have a BAR10 winging it’s way to me which I am really looking forward to working on, it isn’t going to be any kind of crazy build as the owner is very much into re-enactment.

I have a couple of jigsaw rifles to put back in working order. I refer to jigsaw builds that others have attempted to fix but haven’t been able to remedy and as a result are left in pieces, oh the joy! A collection of upgraded Action Army AAP01 that fail to meet requirements so a lot of fault finding with them. I also have some more testing to do with the ICS Tomahawk, this has been quite a lengthy process as I have been fettling with all the latest upgrades. This will feature very soon in a future edition of the magazine.”

And Dan is taking a little downtime (possibly… maybe!) as he said “I’m spending time with the family this weekend, but I’ll probably sneak in a little work in the evening so I can do some basic maintenance on the PKM to keep it in tip-top shape. Mainly I just need to give the bore a swab and the exterior a good wipe down after the previous weekend. I put around 7K rounds through it that day, so it got a bit dirty. I also finally got my second Tactical Tailor MAV back from the mod shop, so I will be setting that one up as the new platform for my SVD!”

So whether out in-game, on the range, or in the workshop the crew are all hard at it, and with the new issue on the horizon we’ve all got a few final notes to bring together for that too! Summer is finally looming too so it’s nearly time here for kit swapovers, and we’re all looking forward to some fine-weather gaming again at last!

Whatever you’re doing this weekend airsoft-wise we hope that you have a blast, and as always for the end of the office week we’ll sign off by saying Play hard, Play safe, and above all, Play with Honour!
