The weekend is fast approaching, and there’s good news and not so good news from the Airsoft Action office…

The not so good news is that this week we discovered that the family of one of our number has tested positive for C-19, so they are now in isolation, and we wish them a speedy recovery!

The good news though is that the weekend started early for AA Red Cell member Stu as he had the opportunity to get out on the range with the team from ASG UK to get “hands on” the exciting new MK13 models that we reported on earlier this month, and as promised we can now bring you a whole lot more information!

Officially licensed by distance-rifle experts Accuracy International, both these stunning-looking models will be available to pre-order soon; numbers will no doubt be limited initially, so if you fancy a bit of “bolt action” then keep any eye on ASG Premium dealers for more information on ordering.

For now though, Stu has confirmed that the two new rifles benefit from:

  • Alloy and polymer construction
  • Pull back the charging handle to cock the gun
  • Alloy outer barrel
  • Alloy upper receiver with 20mm top rail
  • Polymer lower receiver and grip
  • Steel Cocking Handle
  • Steel trigger
  • Alloy KeyMod Handguard
  • Adjustable cheek rest
  • Adjustable hop up system
  • Collapsible Stock
  • 50 BB plastic magazine

In terms of “spec”, the two models have their own distinct characteristics;

Specifications MK13 Mod 7:

  • Length: 990mm / 1235 mm
  • Weight: 4094 g
  • Color: Dark Earth
  • Material: Polymer , Alloy
  • Hop-up: Adjustable
  • Shooting Mode: Safety, Bolt Action
  • Magazine Capacity: 50 BBs

Specifications MK13 Compact:

  • Length: 710mm / 940mm
  • Weight: 3820 g
  • Color : Black & Foliage Green
  • Material : Polymer , Alloy
  • Hop-up : Adjustable
  • Shooting Mode : Safety, Bolt Action
  • Magazine Capacity : 50 BBs

Initial reports are very encouraging that ActionSportGames have a bit of a winner on their hands, with Stu confirming that both were “epic fun” and great to shoot, and we’ll be bringing you a full, in-depth review of the new rifles in a future issue of Airsoft Action

Our thanks go to the ASG UK team for laying on this test day, and we look forward to this becoming a regular feature on our calendar as they release more new models!

Those of us in the AA crew that are able are getting our gear ready to head out to C-19 guideline-adherent games this weekend, and if you’re doing the same, stay safe, look after your airsoft brothers and sisters, and enjoy your airsoft!
