Although we’ve still got MOA EXPO very much in our heads, something that we saw that IWA earlier this year and were very excited about has finally landed at GUNFIRE, the x KPYK AK variants from SPECNA ARMS!

KPYK is a Ukrainian company specialising in providing a range of modern firearms accessories including AK system rifles, and parts from KPYK combine durability, interesting design and functionality to enhance the advantages of the carbine in use.
The Prime™ J-Series line of carbines is a combination of the J-Series Edge 2.0™ models along with new internal parts, and features high build quality, durability and very high performance without the need for additional tuning.
The SA-PJ12 PRIME™ is made largely of steel, and components include the barrel, breech chamber cover, outer barrel, trigger guard, magazine catch, selector wing, sling point, gas tube, folding butt stock, and stock.
Aluminium is used for other parts such as the sights, the discharge device, the dovetail mount, the slide with reloading handle and (perhaps most importantly) the handguard with CRC 1U004 gas tube overlay from KPYK. The elements combine quality workmanship, interesting design, functionality, and of course as you’d expect, battle-tested durability.
Inside the replica the features are equally impressive, and you’ll find:
