Well, we’ve been waiting for this for a while now, but finally SPECNA ARMS have released their AK models fitted with KPYK furniture as standard… OPFOR everywhere rejoice!
We first reported on this great collaboration after IWA last year, and although the new models have taken a while to get into full production they are HERE, and they look awesome! SPECNA ARMS tell us;
“These new AEGs are the result of a collaboration between the brands Specna Arms and KPYK. KPYK is a Ukrainian company specialising in providing a range of modern firearms accessories including AK system rifles. Items from the manufacturer KPYK combine durability, interesting design and functionality to enhance the advantages of the carbine in use.
Specna Arms presents a line of airsoft carbines based on years of experience, passion and commitment.
The Prime™ J-Series line of carbines is a combination of the J-Series Edge 2.0™ models along with new internal parts and features high build quality, durability and very high performance without the need for additional tuning. Right out of the box, the user will receive a product that is up to any task on the airsoft field. This is all thanks to, among other things: the latest Hop-Up TDC chambering of the Specna Arms Magnus™”
The SA-PJ13 PRIME™ (one of the range shown in our image today) is made largely of steel, and components include the barrel, breech chamber cover, outer barrel, trigger guard, magazine catch, selector wing, butt sling eye, gas tube, folding buttstock, and stock.
Aluminium is still used in some non-crucial areas and perhaps most importantly in the handguard with CRC 1U020 gas tube overlay from KPYK. The real-world elements combine quality workmanship, interesting design and functionality; M-LOK mounts and a Picatinny rail will allow the installation of a range of accessories such as red dot sights, lasers, vertical grips, and taclites.
Features as standard are also excellent:
- 8mm J-Cage ball bearings (motor and piston pinion) and 8mm slide bearing (centre pinion)
- Steel cylinder
- Precision inner barrel with a diameter of 6.02mm
- CNC steel gears with a ratio of 16:1
- Reinforced piston with steel jaw
- Rotating TDC Magnus™ Hop-Up chamber for highly accurate and stable adjustment
- Helium™ Flat Hop Eraser will improve BB stability
- Aluminium heads and nozzle
- Powerful Specna Arms DarkMatter™ High Speed 27-35K brushless motor
- Built-in Gate Aster electronic system
So, not only do the new KPYK-equipped models look great, but they should perform excellent in the field from the get-go! Miguel already has one in hand that he’s starting to work up in testing before deploying in-game, and of course we’ll share his verdict on them just as soon as we can!
