So, that’s us back in the groove after our downtime, and with the website now setup to perform righteously for a while longer it’s time we got, as Stewbacca would say, “back on the tools” and the first order of business is to talk a little more about the new GBBR “Mega Airflow System (MAS)” from our very good friends at BOLT over in Taiwan!
Obviously both Bill and Stewbacca are looking forward to getting their heads together with the guys at BOLT in November at MOA to see just what they have planned for their new selection of GBBR platforms, but in the meantime we can confirm that there several models featuring the MAS system, which vary in barrel length and handguard style.
The BOLT Airsoft MAS (Mega Airflow System) itself is based on the highly regarded Tokyo Marui (TM) MWS ZET System, aiming to offer an upgraded and more reliable version of the MWS design.
Key features include;
- MWS compatibility: The MAS system is a clone of the Tokyo Marui MWS ZET System, meaning it shares the same platform for M4/AR-15-style gas blowback airsoft guns. This provides a wide range of aftermarket parts compatibility.
- Mega Airflow System (MAS): This proprietary system includes several enhancements to the bolt carrier and gas systems.
- Anti-bounce bolt: A new feature prevents the bolt from bouncing forward after cycling, which improves shot-to-shot consistency.
- Redesigned bolt group: The bolt carrier has been upgraded for better performance, with a replaceable nozzle that allows for performance tuning.
- Upgraded hop-up: The hop-up system has been revised to use standard GBB/VSR buckings, expanding upgrade options for improved accuracy and range.
- Enhanced realism: The trigger group has been redesigned with a longer lever to improve the function of the bolt catch after the last shot, giving it a more realistic feel. The platform is also compatible with real-steel charging handles for added authenticity.
- Strong, realistic recoil: In line with BOLT Airsoft’s reputation, the MAS GBBR offers a powerful and satisfying gas blowback recoil.
- Durable construction: The rifles feature full alloy, steel, and high-strength polymer construction for durability and realistic weight.
Thanks to the guys at AIRSOFT WORLD we’ve managed to lay our hands on one of the first Bolt Airsoft Elite DX MWS/MAS GBB variants to hit UK shores, and we’re just about to start putting it through some serious rangetime… if you’d like to know more, then stay tuned!
