What a great start to the week for OPFOR/RUSFOR players and fans of the AK platform as the very latest version of the AT-AK12 from Arcturus is now ready to ship at Taiwangun!

We’ve already secured a model for full review in Issue 116 of Airsoft Action, but to get the ball rolling the Taiwangun website tells us:

“AT-AK12 is the newest assault rifle of Arcturus producer that has already accustomed airsoft players to the reliability, accuracy, and durability of their replicas. The main elements such as receiver, receiver cover, receiver cover latch, safety lever, trigger, trigger guard, magazine latch, bolt carrier, folding stock latch, gas tube, gas port block, front sight base, folding rear sight and flash hider, as in the case of firearms were made of steel. Smaller parts, including the outer barrel were made of aluminum and light alloys. The whole rifle is well fitted and protected against corrosion. Buttstock, pistol grip, magazine, handguard are made of reinforced polymer.

The reinforced gearbox with proven internal parts is the next advantage of this replica. Quick spring change system (without pull out and open the gearbox), bearing spring guide, bearing piston head, full steel teeth polycarbonate piston, steel gears mounted on 8mm steel bushing to be able to withstand the highest loads. The motor gear is mounted on ball bearings to ensure it can rotate freely at high speeds. In addition, the gearbox is equipped with a microswitch trigger, which, in combination with low-resistance wiring, works great with Li-Po batteries. The use of an electric trigger eliminates also the problem of burned out contacts and improves the response to the trigger. The replica also features a sealed nozzle that works great with a metal hop-up chamber and with a precision barrel made of polished stainless steel.”

“Certain Individuals” on the Airsoft Action crew are excited to get their hands on this latest electric version of the Russian issue rifle, and the test model will be getting some serious range abuse as soon as it arrives; watch this space for some updates during the test and evaluation process!
