Well, they say you can’t have the best of both worlds… but actually sometimes you can!

We were just down at the indoor range and had the chance to try the latest E&L ELT191 DPS Dual Powered System HPA/CO2 GBB rifle, and what a belter it is, with some really discernible felt-recoil on C02, but a real wallop on HPA!

So the spiel tells us;

Experience versatile power and performance with the E&L ELT191 DPS Dual Powered System Gas Blowback Rifle. This innovative airsoft gun allows seamless switching between HPA (High Pressure Air) and CO2 (12g or 33g cartridges), delivering maximum power, efficiency, and adaptability for all gameplay scenarios.

Built from a robust combination of metal, steel, aluminium alloy, and fibre polymer, the ELT191 DPS balances durability with lightweight handling. It features a 31/120 BB magazine capacity, an adjustable hop-up system for precise shot tuning, and firing modes including semi-auto, full-auto, and safety.

With an overall length adjustable from 801mm to 875mm, and a 370mm inner barrel, this rifle provides excellent control and accuracy. Weighing 3160 grams with magazine, it offers solid presence on the field without sacrificing manouverability.

Yup, it’s a solid old handful alright, and with so much steel in the mix you’re not going to break this rifle any time soon! We love E&L in this respect as the AKs that we have in the test pool from them have proved to be absolutely bomber tough as well as looking great, even after our abuse!

We did however have some niggles, apparently with the Fire Control Group (FCG), which led to the rifle cutting out from time to time, and this is something that we really need to get to the bottom of… we’ll get there of course…

It’s by no means the cheapest of options out there, but with the new dual-power “OS” combined with the fabulous external build quality we’ve come to expect from E&L it’s certainly one to consider, even if the magazines do seem expensive for what they are…

We’ll keep persevering with the odd intermittent cut-out, and we’ll tell you more once we’ve had a chance to really run the E&L ELT191 DPS through its paces… as always, watch this space!
