Here in the UK it’s another Bank Holiday weekend, so those of us in the office are looking forward to an extra day out doing what we love, and that’s shooting AEGs and GBBs! May Bank Hols also means it’s time for the first of the big UK summer events, and to all of our friends heading off to SHIFT YOUR RIFTS 2025 we hope that the weather is kind, and that you all have a GREAT time!
Here at AAHQ we have some extra-special rangetime booked in at *redacted*, but that does mean that we’re going to get the opportunity to shoot somewhere that’s just a bit special, with some super-cool people… all will be revealed at a later date… possibly…
Bill told us “I got the opportunity to go and shoot with some really cool guys this weekend, and let’s just say that airsoft replicas are being used in a different format for what could prove to be some very entertaining purposes… I’m sworn to secrecy right now, even among the AA Crew and all I can say is that the GBBRs are ready to roll, and I hope to show them off in their best possible light!”
While a few of the team are taking some well-earned downtime with their families, for most of the AA Crew it’s “airsoft biz as usual”, and Stewbacca told us that “this weekend, we will be mostly doing… POLK 5! Our annual Northern Alliances MilSim of various teams, most of which are centred in the northern counties of Taiwan, will be once again congregating on the East Coast at the Longmen campsite as with POLK 2 & 3 in past years, albeit a lot earlier this year to try and dodge the heat wave we suffered in POLK 3, although it might end up being a Monsoon-Sim instead if we aren’t lucky. Shades of PengHu again…
Hopefully all will be well. The VFC FNC, M16A2 and likely a Glock of sorts will be joining me and my now quite well tested MilSim extended sustainment AOR2 BDUs and plate carrier loadout as our smaller Taichi turnout for this one form the insertion troop which will apparently be deployed in the midst of the battle once it ensues as QRF/SpecOps types… of course there’ll be an AAR to follow as well!”
Miguel is “attending an event called Age of Empire, a game within the THE GAME community. So it will be a relaxed morning among teams who have played together for years now” and Bruno added “Airsoft! This Sunday we are playing in our home field on a game organized by another team from our The Game Community, being one of the main objectives building up our Fort (which is going to be our base) and levelling it up making it stronger being able then to unlock new missions!”
In the USA Dan is taking some time off with his “home crew”, whilst Matt proves that we do suffer for our beloved game, “I’m about two weekends off from a milsim event, so for me it’s putting in reps and gear checks at practice. I took a dremel to my safety gear to get it all to work together so the microplastics had my nose bleeding all night…”
Back here in the UK Rich told us that “I was meant to be airsofting at Rift Airsoft’s Shift Your Rifts, but now I’m working there! Gotta ride round all weekend in a Sultan CVRT”… oh, the hardship!
So that’s basically it from us this week, and we hope that if you’re also benefitting from a longer-than-usual weekend you’ll be making the most of it whether that’s out playing airsoft, or spending precious time with your loved ones!
If you are in-game, then as always… Play Hard, Play Safe, and above all… Play with Honour!
