It’s all (airsoft) action at AAHQ today as we start to upload ISSUE 178 ready for Monday, and right now it’s another moment when we collectively take a breath and enjoy what we’ve created together again… of course we hope you enjoy the new issue as much as we all enjoyed creating it!
But that doesn’t mean that we can take our foot off the gas… in the words of the old print-magazine world “the presses never sleep”, and although we are prone to taking the odd nap between firefights, we’ll be back on it at the weekend with games, range days, and workshop sessions moving on apace…
But the fact that the new issue is ready means that we can actually go out to play and to shoot purely to enjoy ourselves rather than working on articles and reviews, and enjoy it we most certainly shall!
So what are the AA CREW up to this weekend?
Stewbacca as always was straight into our weekly chat, and said “this week, we will be mostly going to Xindian again, I’ll of course try and stretch the legs of the newly arrived VFC KS1 in a more fire intensive and long range environment than last week where I barely got a shot off but spent a long time stalking through the denser jungle feeling more in character I guess.
Monday Tuesday is shooting related work as well, down south in Chiayi visiting one of my competitive shooting compatriots to train with her and hand over the VFC MD9 for her to practise with and use in the upcoming Ding Ding Cup 2025 steel challenge in a few weeks, as well as get her thoughts and experiences of it and the event as a very capable and diligent lady shooter in her own right. Lots to be done, fellow shooters…”
Miguel (pictured this week!) and the crew in Portugal are fully back at it again, and he told us all “this Sunday we were supposed to take part in “Versus”. A 5v5 tournament like event, but unfortunately it got cancelled. So we invited a couple of teams to our field for a couple of mini games!”
Dan commented “I was invited to help out as OPFOR with a National Guard FTX on Sunday, but I will have to see if I can get the time off for that or not.”
From the UK crew Rich said “I’ll be heading over near Luton to Rift Airsoft’s The Ridge. They’ve got a battlesim on that day. It’s a site I’ve always wanted to visit but never got round to. Though it’ll be the first and last time I play there as this is it’s last ever game there” and Ben added “I’ll be home Saturday afternoon so might get a bit of target shooting on the range, then possibly a bit more shooting on Sunday… got the new suppressor to test out so shall see how that goes!”
Bill is “looking forward to a range day with my own tools again; I’ve been setting up an APC-9 GBBR which is now largely complete! It’s been a great little build project to get it just where I want it, and I just collected the final accessories, so of course now I want to go and get some BBs downrange to see how it performs…”
Boycie and Li’l Stu, our deadly little and large duo, are up to their usual tricks! Boycie told us that “unfortunately no airsoft for me as I’m RO’ing a Level 3 UKPSA LBP comp”, whilst Li’l Stu added “I’ll be playing around with a new (to me) gas revolver!”
So, as we said, one job may be done, but others are still to be completed! We hope that you’ve got some cool airsoft adventures lined up for the weekend yourself, and have great fun if you have… of course if you’re in-game then Play Hard, Play Fair, and above all… Play with Honour!
