So yup, the first working week of a New Year back at AAHQ and the AA Crew are off and running yet again and heading for the first issue of 2026! Issue 182 is “in the bank” now and bar a few final edits it’s good to go for the 15th as always!
We all hope that you’ve had a GREAT Christmas and New Year,, and that some of you managed to get in some games and range sessions as we did… we also hope that you found some great airsoft-related goodies under your tree, but if you didn’t then we’re sure that your local store can help fill the void!
Of course for some members of the AIRSOFT ACTION team it’s going to be a busy, busy start to 2026, as Boycie, Jase and Tim are starting to turn their thoughts to SHOT Show and our usual annual coverage… and indeed Boycie told us that “I’m already washing clothes and prepping for Vegas baby!”… we’re sure it’s going to be an excellent show again this year, and “Da Bois” will be sending through their “dailies” as always so keep an eye out for that later this month.
For some of the other members of the AA Crew though it’s most definitely a case of “back on the tools” as Stewbacca would say, and he told us “a teammate and I are going down to Hill Fox on the outskirts of Taichung again this Sunday for a special bomb diffusion themed game having been invited after going to a regular open day there last week for a bit of a change and having an absolute blast. I’m thinking OSW and a full combat load out seeing as I still haven’t fielded it for a MilSim event yet.”
Miguel added “this Sunday we are organizing one of our small skirmishes; just 3 or 4 teams, a couple of small games. Just for fun!” and Ben Said “nothing planned for this weekend, but I’m looking to get out at the end of the month, itching to use my MTW! I’ve had a couple of little hiccups on the two short times I’ve used it so far…as in new mags not feeding properly and its range is far more than my 60m range, so sighting it in at that and then on the field seeing my rounds go past my zeroing I had to adjust my point of aim by eye…so these little hiccups are my main focus and until I can get out I can’t really deal with the zeroing in proper… however one is excited to just be getting out and hitting trigger time!”
Likewise for Bill as he commented “I’ve no game planned yet to start the year as I’m waiting for something special… yeah #redacted time again! That said I have some more review AEGs and GBBs to get through the range, so weather allowing (might get snow again this weekend!) I’ll be on the woods range laying down BBs as usual!”
And talking of snow, we had to use this awesome image of Dan that he sent in with a future article for the first SFTW post of the year, and we’re certain you’ll agree it’s a cracker of a shot! Dan told us “I’ll be using this weekend to catch up on work, as I lost large swathes of December to the holidays, COVID and life in general… in the shop I’ve got to finish up the box mag conversion project for the M240 Lima; Bullcraft was kind enough to make me a one-off modification of their feed tube adapter special for this project, so I need to fit that and then check it for function and ensure it’s feeding. Nearly 95% of the way there. Then I’ve got a Stoner 96 build to attend to, as well as a vintage KWA G36C. And because I seem to have awful luck with repro micro-red dots, I’ve finally been broken down and picked up a real Trijicon RMR to drop atop my Glock. I might install and zero that since it’s finally looking to warm up outside!”
So it really is back to “airsoft biz as usual” for the guys as you’d expect, and we hope that you’ll be kicking your own New Year in high gear with a game or range session of your own! Keep an eye on the skies for that white and fluffy stuff, and if you are out playing then Play Hard, Play Safe, and above all Play with Honour!
