It’s been another REALLY great week at AIRSOFT ACTION HQ as we prepare ISSUE 177 for upload so it’s ready for you all to enjoy on the 15th as always, and with new AEGs and GBBs starting to flow through again after the post-show-season hiatus there’s a HUGE amount to get through as we enter the back-end of the summer!
But although the ACTION AIR WORLD SHOOT 2025 is now over, and our somewhat travel-weary shooter Stewbacca is safely home again (and already “back to the tools” as he would say!) we send our congratulations to all the shooters who took part… but the summer is far from over, and we’re now firming up the logistics for our visit to the UK NATIONAL AIRSOFT FESTIVAL at the end of this month!
Our ranges and workshops are also busy as we get through range-testing and project work, so the tempo at AAHQ at the moment is high, and the atmosphere positively electric as we get stuck into all the “shiny things” that are arriving… but of course we still need to get our own game-time in, whilst at the same time we cover off all the great events still going on out there. So what are the AA Crew up to this weekend?
Stewbacca told us “having just gotten back from the Action Air World Shoot 2025 in the Philippines on Tuesday, I’ve already acquired a new VFC gun to try (Maxim MD9 PDW/PCC GBB) so I’ll probably take that along as well as a Glock for a sidearm this weekend as they can share magazines which is convenient. Also the MP5SD3 that I just fixed the two wayward magazines of seems like a good shout, seeing as team TaiJi are headed to Pewniversity once again, and the SD performed excellently there last time I used it.”
Boycie commented “this weekend for me is meeting up with L’il Stu and our longstanding airsoft buddy Venomous at <Redacted> to discuss plans for getting out and playing more again. It should be fun as it also may result in an adult beverage being sampled… also I’m sending the next “Press ID’s” with Airsoft Action QR Code on out to our Dep Ed Stu and Dep Ed Dan; Matt’s is en route and Dep Ed Miguel, Bruno and Sara have just received theirs.”
Over in the USA Dan said “I’m negotiating with WIFECOM about attending a game this weekend in lieu of having to attend another event. This requires a careful mixture of high-level diplomacy, bribery and brinkmanship!” Matt added “it’s another Sunday, another airsoft practice with my boys and girls at the paintball field that we have a special arrangement with to go nuts at! In about two weeks the local university where my local airsoft club is hosted opens up again for the semester so that means another round of new people for the group..” whilst Robbie caused great merriment by saying “no airsoft, but I shall be beating people up with foam swords while dressed as a pirate! Sadly the blunderbuss isn’t allowed LoL!”
Miguel and the AA Crew members in Portugal are still on their “August Recess” and he said “we are on our break! So Airsoft only in September, although I have many articles and reviews to get done while it’s quieter with games…” Poor old Bruno though is obviously not taking the downtime graciously as he chipped in to say “unfortunately we are on a break; no pew pew… Day 789 without pew pew… I cannot remember anymore the taste of bio BBs haha!”
Bill (pictured this week in range-mode) updated everyone to say “as ISSUE 177 is largely done bar final proofing I’ve got some final rangework to do with the DD4 FSP RIII S GBBR as it’s proving to be a real monster, and then get started with the new EVOLUTION GHOST and the R15 FREYA GEN II; I’ve also broken the VFC M110 out for some distance-work, and then I need to start sorting out what of the camping kit I’ll be taking to NAF… Ben has a new chair so I’d better make sure there’s space in the car for that haha!” Ben added “it’s a collapsible chair! As I’m not taking the minigun this year it can fill in that gap… hopefully though we get some nicer weather this time!” Jase said “after a very, very busy off-the-cuff weekend helping out the Airsoft Wales Extravaganza Sale Day in the valleys, this weekend I’ll be chilling out and sorting my own gear.”
And we’re absolutely delighted that after his long illness Jimmy has rejoined our team chat this weekend, although he said “I would love to get out and play, but unfortunately it’s going to be a while before I have a decent level of fitness and I am fully healed after being cracked open like a walnut!”
Once again we hope that you’ll join us in wishing Jimmy a speedy ongoing recovery, but it’s fabulous to see him back amongst our dysfunctional yet happy gang!
So that’s it from us at the end of another busy, busy week, and everything is primed and ready as we head towards the end of Q3 2025… Q4 looks like it’s going to be amazing, and we hope that you’ll continue to journey with us as we delve even deeper into all things airsoft each month.
For now though, we wish you all the very best for your own airsoft adventures this weekend whatever they may be, and as always, if you’re out and in-game then Play Hard, Play Safe, and above all, Play with Honour!
