It’s been another busy old week at AAHQ as we’ve been hard at work with ISSUE 175 in readiness to getting it uploaded for the 15th, but we’re pleased to report that everything is now in place and good to go!
It’s also been a hectic week in terms of lots of new arrivals both at the office and into the hands of our testers/reviewers… the pace of 2025 so far seems to show zero chance of slowing as far as we can see, so as we look to the summer months ahead we’ve got LOTS of range days and testing to complete not only in terms of AEGs and GBBs, but also when it comes to new gear.
That’s not to say that existing testing needs to take a back seat, as this is always built-in to our timeline… kind of explains why we always work 2-3 months ahead, right?
But what are the AA Crew up to this weekend?
Of course they’re all as busy as always with their own airsoft adventures too, and Stewbacca told us that “having taken a rain check (despite sunshine, last weekend) I guess I should get back to it again, this weekend Team TaiJi are going to one of the more recently discovered sites on our own to get some deep jungle war gaming in. I’ll likely take the FAL, OSW and/or perhaps FNC along as I’ve done some more work on all of them and they could no doubt use an outing. Also getting to grips with my Walther PDP and it’s IWB holster and other such mischief too… Lots to be done, fellow shooters…”
Dan is “planning on getting a few projects wrapped up as parts trickle in this week. One of which has been a fun project: a KWA ERG turned “Blood Diamond” build for a friend who’s been lusting after one of these for a while now. While still a bit labour intensive, I’m getting better at these fixed carry handle conversions as I do more of them and refine the technique” whilst our other US-based Legionnaire Matt said “I have a two day MilSim op in Pennsylvania this weekend where I’ll be doing field work covering the event and also interviewing players for an article idea I have about the increasingly expensive arms race being brought to games nationwide. I’ve also just received back and email from Brey-Tac regarding their grenade kits and are waiting for them to respond to questions from me before I submit an article for AA regarding them, and I’m looking at building a chest rig because sometimes it’s nice not to run around with plates (I airsoft in my real steel ballistic plates!)…”
Our Portuguese Posse are all at it this weekend; Miguel commented “this Sunday we got invited to play in a brand new field; 12 hectares of industrial area! It’s a bit far so we will leave Saturday and sleep close by. After the game we will also have lunch among all players”, and Sara added “we will be travelling up north to Viseu for the 12 hectare CQB field! I’ll be taking pictures… we’re going to try out the field for the first time with the team who invited us, but we definitely have high expectations!”
Ben is still honing his new NV gear, Rich is getting his new LEVAR set up, and Boycie said “I’m back off holiday and working on details for helping with a charity event later in the year… more details when I can divulge them! Also working on a collaboration with L’il Stu and our overseas friend Bingo which we’ll be writing about in the coming months.”
Bill closed things out this week as he told everyone “175 is a wrap, so I can once again get back to what I love doing most, and that’s shooting AEGs and GBBs! I finished up my testing with the new VORSK variants last weekend (VMP-2C pictured), so this time I’ll be heading to the woods with my own setup again… Marcus and I have been playing around with the Perun SPEEDER and CLICKER setups so I’m keen to see how these work in the wild, but mostly I want to test-shoot my ROSSI L119 now it’s had a spring-change… no doubt I’ll get some barricade/steels work in too as I haven’t spent as much time on my pistols as I like too…”
So there we have it, LOTS going on within the AA Crew, and SO MUCH to look forward to! For those heading to the MIDLANDS AIRSOFT FAIR here in the UK this weekend we’re sorry not to be joining you, but we hope that you have a ball!
For all our other airsoft friends around the world we hope that you’ve got some great games and shooty-funtimes planned, and wherever you are, if you’re in-game Play Hard, Play Safe, and above all… Play with Honour!
