One of the exciting things that the AA Crew saw at IWA 2026 was the launch of the MTW AK-105 by WOLVERINE!

It’s pretty much everything users love about the MTW in an AK form, and the Crew were told that;

The MTW AK-105 brings the legendary performance, reliability, and serviceability of the MTW platform to the iconic AK design. Built from the ground up around our INFERNO XTS HPA engine, it delivers the same build quality, purpose-driven design, performance, and modularity you expect from an MTW, housed in a rugged and authentic stamped steel receiver set and CNC-machined trunnion.

They also found out that some external parts have been created in collaboration with our old friends at LCT, and the finish of the platform certainly lives up to their high-quality standards… but it’s what’s going on inside this new OPFOR-friendly beast that REALLY makes it interesting!

WOLVERINE state that the features include:

  • Authentic stamped steel receiver set with classic WA logo
  • AK-105 front end
  • Intrinsic alignment with CNC-machined aluminum and steel trunnion and engine chassis (patent pending)
  • Steel buffer tube/MTW stock adapter

Now that’s a whole heap of features right there, and the AA Crew (along with everyone else that had the opportunity to try the MTW AK at the show!) were very impressed not just with the platform itself, but with all the new, cutting-edge HPA technology that’s sitting inside!

Bruno was especially taken with it, and has already discussed the possibility of obtaining a test model for evaluation… the WOLVERINE website is currently showing “Get notified when the MTW AK is available!” so if this tickles your pickle as much as it does ours, then get on over and sign up for notifications now on the MTW AK page!
