It’s been a busy old week again at AAHQ as we’ve been all-hands-on readying ISSUE 183 for publishing this Sunday!
And once again it’s an absolute beast of an issue with not only reviews, articles, and reports from around our wide world of airsoft but also a truly mammoth report on what “Da Bois” experienced in Las Vegas at SHOT 2026!
Obviously some things that happened in Vegas will forever stay there though… just sayin’…
And with MOA and SHOT behind us now it means that the next big event on the horizon is IWA, and although the exhibitor list looks a little leaner than it has done in years past when it comes to airsoft there’s most certainly enough there to go at (including the G&G ARMAMENT 40TH ANNIVERSARY!), and we look forward to bringing you a full report on the show in Germany in ISSUE 184!
And talking of our next issue, daily news items here on the website and fresh iterations of the magazine itself don’t happen if the AA Crew aren’t right on point, and as AIRSOFT ACTION continues to evolve (more details on this in due course!), just like a good game of airsoft it’s the people that make it…
So what are the good people of the AA Crew up to this weekend?
Bill (pictured this week with the new SECUTOR CENTURION GBBR) kicked off proceedings by saying that “ISSUE 183 is in the bag, and uploading to the publishing platforms right now! It’s been a proper monster to pull together as we have so much information to share with all of you, our readers. And sometimes the struggle is not what to include, but simply what to prioritise… I hope that once again we’ve got the balance right, and that you enjoy the new issue as always!”
Boycie added “after the busy time of Shot Show and the report writing, I’m planning more features. I’m also meeting up with Li’l Stu to discuss some projects which are coming up. I’ll hopefully be making more of a dent in a feature for the next issue on the <Redacted>. Range time won’t happen this weekend for “Valentines” reasons but next week it’s full steam ahead.”
Ben also mentioned V-DAY and said “well as it’s valentine’s Saturday time is gonna be spent with the my ‘special person’, but I’ve managed to have a play about with my Dark Knight build, booked for a game on the 21st… a good group of us are going so it should be a belter of a day!”
Miguel of course (OF COURSE!) is out playing with his team and told us “this Sunday we are organizing an event, called Boots on the Ground. It’s a game where three factions of fifteen players will be basically playing an electronic peddy paper controlled by our game boxes, but the path is not pre-set. When the players scan the RFID tag, the box will randomly choose another for them to move (except the previous one). In the end all the RFID tags will be read, and it will tell us how many points each faction cleared. But, in addition to that, my guys will be doing OpFor business, by patrolling and defending points, and we will also have four secondary missions involved….“ Bruno added “just like Miguel said! I’ll be one of the OpFor making the others life a bit more troublesome!”
Over in the USA now that “Old Ma Nature” is quietening down just a little Dan advised that “it’s been unseasonably warm out this February, so I’m going to do a bit of work outside expanding and cleaning up my shooting range area. Plan is to push it out from the current 80 yards to a full 100 and drop in T-post and target out there. I need to trim out some of the little saplings and bushes that have started to pop up too. Eventually I’ll also fab up a portable barricade or two for funsies.”
Matt then added “I’m one month out for an AMS op and then after that plans are in the work for attending an Airsoft LARP event where the emphasis is on RP and not airsoft per se… me and my boys are gonna run a functioning pizza shop!”
And to round things out this week we have to send out love and a big dose of “get well soon” to Stewbacca; he said “this week, I will be mostly taking it easy after further diagnoses of the ankle issue, and meeting some friends I knew from back in the UK who are back on island that I haven’t seen in years. It’s also Chinese/Lunar new year next week, so best wishes to all of our industry partners in this neck of the woods who will be likewise seeing in the year of the horse, likewise any of you, fellow shooters, who celebrate such things wherever you are in the world.”
And of course we too would all like to extend our very best wishes to all our friends that celebrate the Lunar New Year in the coming days, and we wish everyone love, luck, and success in the coming Year of the Horse!
So really, with V-DAY and the Chinese/Lunar New Year on the horizon it appears that there’ll be a lot of love in the air, and we hope that all of you can extend just a little of this towards your fellow players; if you’re out playing this weekend then as always Play Hard, Play Safe, Play with Honour, and perhaps share a little airsoft love wherever you are!
