It’s not every day that you see a major airsoft brand do something that’s really new and interesting, but we’re delighted to be able to show you the new ARCTURUS VANGUARD 5”OPTICS-READY HI CAPA!

In fact ARCTURUS have created a whole range of VANGUARD pistol models, from a basic 4.3” up to the 5” optics-ready version, and including a pretty racy 4.3” optics-ready with compensator variant that looks simply superb!

The guys over at GUNFIRE that brought us this news told us of the 5” optics-ready variant;

“The Arcturus Vanguard 5.1 airsoft pistol in the Optics Ready (OR) version has a notch on the slide that allows for the installation of red dot sights with an  RMR mount . The set includes screws and a mounting plate for red dot sights with an RMR mount and similar ones.

This green gas-powered airsoft pistol from Arcturus is characterized by exceptional smoothness, reliability, and quality of workmanship. The replica features a metal slide (made using CNC machines) with a fiber-optic front sight.  A RIS rail under the barrel allows for the attachment of a flashlight or laser.

The pistol features low-profile controls:  an ambidextrous wing lock that prevents firing when the hammer is pulled back, and a bolt catch that, thanks to its size, can be easily operated with the thumb. Both the lock and catch are made of steel. The hammer and magazine release are also made of steel and can be adjusted for both right- and left-handed users.

The pistol is characterized by high accuracy, with over 70% hits on a 30x30cm target from a distance of 30 meters. The high-performance gas system allows for over 60 shots without having to refill the gas tank in the magazine.”

Inside, the VANGUARD features:

  • 03mm diameter carbon steel inner barrel, finished with the ENT (Enduraheat Nitride Treatment process)
  • A gas system that allows for proper operation even at temperatures below 10 degrees Celsius.
  • Steel internal parts ( MIM – Metal Injection Molding ) finished with the QPQ process  (heat treatment after, among other things, nitriding and polishing), such as: the bolt catch, ambidextrous safety, ambidextrous magazine catch, hammer, sear, cut-off lever, valve striker, and valve striker lock.

These certainly look GREAT to us, and if they perform to the level that ARCTURUS suggest then they could be another ACTION AIR contender in the making! We look forward to finding out more, and to getting one on the range as soon as possible, but for now you can check out the spec of every model as they have them in stock already over on the GUNFIRE website!
