We’ve been a little rifle/carbine heavy this week, so we thought we’d balance things out with a solid “secondary” in the shape of the EMG X/DOUBLE BELL SAI 1911!

This striking GBB features full Salient Arms International trademarks thank to the EMG licence, and the slide has been meticulously CNC-machined with signature SAI lightening cuts, improving both aesthetics and weight distribution.

The frame is enhanced with a textured grip, flared magwell, and skeletonized trigger and hammer, all contributing to superior ergonomics and faster reloads. The full metal construction provides durability for high-intensity shooting while maintaining a comfortable weight for all-day use.

We’re told that powered by green gas, the SAI 1911 delivers a crisp blowback with each shot, providing a solid recoil impulse; the gas blowback system, one that we’ve seen in other DOUBLE BELL 1911s should provide a satisfying kick and responsive cycling. If it’s anything like other models then the single-action trigger mechanism will be snappy and responsive, making rapid follow-up shots feel smooth and intuitive.

Designed with performance in mind, the SAI 1911 will give you impressive accuracy, consistent power, and solid range right out of the box…. the adjustable hop-up system will definitely allow fine-tuning for BB trajectory, helping you stay on target even at longer distances!

We’ve had very good performance from the DOUBLE BELL 1911 variants we’ve had to try, and those in the long-term test pool are still performing well. With its unique look we have no doubt that the EMG X/DOUBLE BELL SAI 1911 will offer the same performance and durability… but we’ll make sure to tell you if this is the case once we’ve had one on the range!
