We’ve just finished watching the product launch on the VEGAFORCECOMPANY (VFC) Youtube channel for the new MAXIM DEFENSE MD:9 GBBR, and even if some subtitles might have been useful, what was revealed was EXCITING!
After the undoubted success of their licencing agreement with BCM which resulted in the awesome MCMR GBBR and AEG, it looks as if VFC are following the same time, but this time with MAXIM DEFENSE!
For those who attend SHOT SHOW you’ll have no doubt followed MAXIM DEFENSE since their reveals in the new product area some years ago, and they most certainly do things their own way, with some stunning and unique features.
Although there are indeed 5.56mm variants (these were teased in the VFC video too in the shape of the MDX-510 and SDX-505!), VFC have kicked thing into gear with the MD:9 lineup, which ranges “IRL” from the ultra-compact MD:9-K to the full-length MD:9 Carbine, providing mission versatility for CQB operations, routine training, or home defence. Every variant features a free-floating barrel to maximize accuracy, a monolithic-style upper receiver for structural rigidity, and Maxim’s patented M-RAX™ / M-SLOT™ compatible handguard system. This allows seamless integration of tactical accessories such as lights, vertical grips, and lasers, enabling rapid adaptation to mission requirements.
VFC further tell us that;
“VFC has chosen the MD:9 K-SBR as the base model for its gas blowback rifle (GBBR) development. This airsoft variant is built on entirely new molds to authentically replicate the compact aesthetics and design of the original MD:9. Internally, it features a newly engineered aluminum-cut bolt carrier with advanced coating, combined with VFC’s proven AR-9 GBBR fire control system. Moreover, the MD:9 GBBR is fully compatible with VFCs entire G-series magazine line. In both form and function, the VFC MD:9 delivers an uncompromisingly faithful representation of Maxim Defenses’s vision for the MD:9 series.
The VFC MD:9 GBBR is manufactured under full licensing and authorization from Maxim Defense. Every rifle features officially licensed trademarks, accurately replicated components, and complete detailing—all based on Maxim Defense’s original specifications. No additional aftermarket parts are needed to achieve authenticity. This is very exciting news, and as HUGE fans of the VFC GBBR program we’re delighted to see this new model making its debut, and with more MAXIM DEFENSE variants to come there’s definitely a LOT to get excited about!
