Here we are then, heading towards the end of another busy, busy month, one that saw some of the awesome airsoft games and events that we’ve come to expect every summer… but the summer still has a long time to run, and there’s even more adventures on the horizon, and more new releases of AEGs, GBBs, kit and gear to come!
After being out and in the thick of the action last weekend many of the AA LEGION are taking a well-earned rest, sorting their gear, and getting ready for July’s adventures to come, whilst others are in-game as always… there’s always something going on with the AA Crew, and of course as we prepare to put ISSUE 176 together there’s a lot to get done at AAHQ too…
But, once again the weekend has been spotted, so it’s time to find out what our “Legionnaires” around the world have planned… in case you’ve ever wondered each Thursday we get our “virtual heads” together (a la “Max Headroom” but without the stutter!) to talk about plans and ploys, what articles and reviews we’re working on, and what we have lined up for the coming weekend… it’s a great way to bring everyone together, and there’s always some healthy banter as a result!
So, what are the plans?
Stewbacca (pictured in full flow this week!) started the ball rolling; “I’m just on my way home past midnight from another blood and sweat-soaked post-work pistols-only game at the CQB police training place, and this weekend it seems Team Taichi will be mostly going to our newer mountain sight again on the outskirts of [redacted]. I took the FAL and OSW out for a run last week and both performed excellently with their new setups, I may look at the FNC and T91 SOC or perhaps even dig out the PSG-1 as that hasn’t seen action for a good while either. Spoilt for choice, as always, fellow shooters…”
Miguel said “This weekend we are testing the “scenarios” for the Night Ops event, which will be hosted in our field again this year.”
Bill told us that “for once there’s no rangetime or shooting planned this weekend, but I’m heading out with some new VIPER gear to test, and all the camping gear to give it a first prep in readiness for the National Airsoft Event in August… I tend to look after the logistics for those that come with me, so I need to ensure that all my own shizzle is nailed down tight… all the “P’s” people, being fully prepared means an easy life when you’re out in the wild!”
And of course many of the guys like Rich, Matt over in the USA (who also rather casually told us that “practice with my team as usual, while trying to break my pistol on purpose to give me a good excuse to buy a new one…”) and Ben are getting their heads down to writing about their recent games (we’re REALLY looking forward to Rich’s report on “The Return to Drakes Island” and Matt’s MilSim West event overview!), whilst Dan said “I’ll just be wrapping up a couple of new articles I want to get finished” and Boycie added “I’ll be making progress on a couple of articles I’ve been working on with Li’l Stu, and I’ll be RO’ing a Level 2 real-steel LBP/LBR match!”
So, once again a right old mix amongst the AA Crew this week as we roll into July, and the pace we saw at the start of the year shows no sign of letting up… which is good, because magazines don’t write themselves you know!
For those of you out playing this weekend, be sure to HYDRATE as it looks to be another warm one here in the UK, and wherever you may be, and whatever field conditions you may face, be prepared like Bill, and as always Play Hard, Play Safe, and above all… Play with Honour!
