All too often in airsoft groups online we see debates about the performance of “cheap eyepro from the interwebz”, and we always wonder just WHY players are even bothering with it!
Eyes are something that we seem to take for granted, but the blunt fact is that when we’re playing airsoft we need to protect our eyesight, and we have to question “just how much is too much?” when it comes to this area of your gear.
All of us in the AA Crew wear eyepro from some of the very best eyewear brands in the world, often to “MIL” levels of protection… it’s not because we’re trying to be flash gits, but it’s because we are out on the range or in-game A LOT, and even on the range “bouncebacks” from hard targets and steel plates can prove to be dangerous.
So, basically we’re always interested when a new eyepro technology comes onto the market, and the guys at REVISION have just announced something that takes protection to a whole new level with their LZRBLOC LENS TECHNOLOGY!
They say;
“As laser technology advances, forces the world over find themselves in the line of laser fire. Over the last decade, reported laser strikes have risen exponentially. Laser threats are not only more prevalent, they are also more diverse. In an instant, laser strikes can cause vision disruption, distraction, disorientation, and even eye damage. In the field, any impediment to vision can be perilous, but lasers pose a particularly stealthy threat, occurring in numerous forms, wavelengths, and strengths. Forces exposed to laser incursions – whether in law enforcement, the military, or aviation – need to adapt quickly.”
Designed for military, tactical, aviation, police, and first responders, our ballistic laser eye protection blocks harmful laser threats while meeting military-grade protection standards for impact resistance. Featuring LAZRBloc® lens technology, it ensures true color recognition and superior clarity, keeping your vision protected in the most demanding environments.”
This sounds mighty interesting to us and anything that “ups the game” when it comes to eyepro is a very good thing. Are the new models cheap? No they’re not, as the basic StingerHawk Lazrbloc FT-2 & Clear 2 Lens Kit (pictured) starts at around US$209…
Again though we’d ask “just how much is too much?” when it comes to fully protecting your eyesight… don’t try to save money in this area of your gear, just don’t take a chance on anything that doesn’t give you the very best protection that your money can buy!
