It’s gonna be a busy day at AAHQ as we start laying up Issue 145, our “issue of seasonal flavour” today in readiness for 15 December Upload, and all the reviews, reports, and news from the weekend are flying in from the AA Legion all over the globe!

But to start the week we thought we’d feature something a little bit special, and certainly a model that’s only going to be available in VERY limited numbers…

After the success of their L119A2 series GBBRs, ARCHWICK‘s Korean Distributor Guns N Works (GNW) commissioned a small run of “Spec War” GBBR rifles. The real “Spec War” carbines were custom made for USAF special units, and the real things are extremely rare; we have a feeling that the airsoft replica is going to be exactly the same, a RARE beast indeed!

Built with operational performance in mind, the real “Spec War” upper was designed in partnership with some of Americas most specialised warfighters. This upper was built to utilize the 12.5″ MRP barrel as well as other 12″ or longer barrels. As well as offering the barrel-swap capability, the “Spec War” focused on the need to maintain a rigid platform for laser aiming and illumination devices, crucial for night operations and on-target acquisition. This upper set also featured an unique M-LOK rail mounting platform and a continuous picatinny top rail.

Using the same formula as their L119A2 MWS replicas the ARCHWICK airsoft “Spec War” comes with a 5-axis CNC-machined one piece monolithic 6061 T6 Aluminum Billet Upper, and a CNC Swiss 7075 T7 billet lower with MIL-STD hard anodized finish. Other features include ambidextrous controls with multiple steel furniture pieces, upgraded steel internals, and a magazine by Guns Modify.

Sadly these will only be available in very limited numbers from ARCHWICK‘s global distribution partners, but if you’re lucky enough to snage one, you’ll be owning a very special, and very distinctive part of “Combat AR” history…. we can only dream!

As MOA in Taiwan is just around the corner now, and Stewbacca will be “on site” reporting for Airsoft Action we’re excited to see what ARCHWICK (and the other exhibitors!) come up with this year… as always, WATCH THIS SPACE!
