It’s that time of the year again when we start to get our gear ready for a (hopefully!) long hot summer of airsoft adventures, swapping out of our heavier winter kit and into lighter, faster options for the warmer and drier weather!

Of course this means that we’ll be (again hopefully!) ditching the waterproofs in favour of windshirts and UBACS, and swapping over from our heavy winter boots to more minimalist “lite is rite” options… but of course we need to make sure that even our lighter boots are going to be supportive and offer good grip over different terrain.

One model that’s been used and abused fully by certain members of the AA Crew is the HAIX BLACK EAGLE ATHLETIC GTX, and these have most definitely seen some miles under their outsoles, standing up to the rigors of differing terrain both at home and abroad!

The latest version of the BLACK EAGLE ATHLETIC is the 2.0 V GTX MID, and these are permanently waterproof and extremely breathable. This is ensured by the three-layer GORE-TEX® membrane throughout the lining. These boots can also withstand stress, wind and weather because their brushed suede is an extremely robust, durable and resistant outer material that can also be cleaned quickly and easily.

Thanks to specially designed lasts, they fit perfectly and provide ultimate wearing comfort, the whole day long. You’ll experience a comfortable feel in the boots too, even when you’re out for several hours, because the integrated cushioning wedge inside cushions your steps. To protect you against skidding, the sole of the BLACK EAGLE ATHLETIC with its special rubber compound and innovative tread construction offers extremely high slip resistance and grip on a wide variety of surfaces.

Overall these boots come thoroughly recommended by us, and if you’re interested in what makes a boot “good to go”, then we’ll be talking about this in detail again in an upcoming issue of AIRSOFT ACTION!
